ONION RING BATTER


Ingredients

  • 1 large onion, reduce 1/4-inch slices
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk, or when needed
  • 3/4 cup dry bread crumbs
  • seasoned salt to taste
  • 1 quart oil for frying, or when needed

  1. Heat the oil inside a deep-fryer to 365 levels F (185 levels C).
  2. Separate the onion slices into rings, and hang aside. In a tiny bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder and salt.
  3. Dip the onion slices in to the flour mixture until they all are coated put aside. Whisk the egg and milk in to the flour mixture utilizing a fork. Dip the floured rings in to the batter to coat, then put on a wire rack to empty before the batter stops dripping. The wire rack might be placed more than a sheet of aluminum foil for simpler cleanup. Spread the bread crumbs on a plate or shallow dish. Place rings individually in to the crumbs, and scoop the crumbs up within the ring to coat. Provide a tough tap while you take it out of the crumbs. The coating should cling perfectly. Repeat with remaining rings.
  4. Deep fry the rings a couple of at any given time for two to three minutes, or until golden brown. Remove to sponges to empty. Season with seasoning salt, and serve.
